Frequently Asked Questions

What days are you open?

The Adventure Park at Evergreen Sportsplex is open seven days a week by reservation only. From March - October we schedule groups at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm daily and November – February groups are at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm daily . Please call us at 703-777-7800 or e-mail adventure@evergreensportsplex.com to schedule your time.

How old do you have to be to go on the course?

While we understand that other zip lines and adventure courses have different requirements, here at Evergreen everyone MUST be 8 years old, 75 – 250 lbs. and be at least 4 feet, 8 inches (56 in.) tall. There are no exceptions. If a participant does not meet ALL THREE of the requirements, they may still utilize our rock climbing walls and cargo net, provided they fit in the equipment properly.

How long does the course take?

Depending on the package you select, you will be out on the course for 45 minutes to two hours. We ensure that everyone is back on the ground within the two-hour time slot and our guides are trained to schedule your outing appropriately to make sure you get the best experience with however many activities you participate in.

As a parent, do I have to go out on the course with my son/daughter?

You are not required to go out on the course, however any child between the ages of 8 – 10 years old must be accompanied by a 15-year old (or older). Please plan accordingly if you are planning to bring out young children but are not anticipating going on the course yourself.

Can I watch my group while they’re out on the ropes course?

Unfortunately, at this time, our only viewing access is at the launch point at the beginning of the course. Patrons who are not on the zip lines/ropes course will be able to see their group be sent on the first zip line and return to the ground on the fourth zip line. There is no viewing access on the ropes course as it is in the woods. You are welcome to bring cameras to capture the action as they leave and return!

How many guides are out on the course with my group?

Guides are sent on the course based on the amount of people in the group. You will have a minimum of two trained guides with you at all times. The larger your group, the more guides will be present.

I’ve never been on a zip line or ropes course before, is it difficult?

Give it a shot! Our course is designed to be challenging, but not overbearing. We have seen everyone from as young as 8 years old to folks well in to their 70s. As long as you fit in the harness properly, you are able to go on the course. However, we do not recommend participating if you are pregnant or just recovering from a surgery as you may experience some bumps along the way.

What happens if I don’t want to continue all the way through?

While you are encouraged to complete the full course as it helps build confidence and overcome your fears, our guides are trained with the knowledge and equipment to properly lower a person down to the ground safely in the event of an early exit.

What is at the Sportsplex while my group is on the course?

Once your group is out on the course out of view, feel free to check out our award-winning concessionaire ResQ Grille in the main level of the stadium, browse through 'Sports Scene', our retaile, or relax on our couches and check out the game on one of our TVs!

Where do I check in once I get to the Sportsplex?

Follow the adventure park signs to the white garage, just past the big red barn. There you will be greeted by your guides who will process your payment, get you to sign waivers and provide you everything you need to head out on the course.

Do I need to show up early for my time slot?

Please arrive about 5 – 10 minutes early for your assigned time. Everyone is granted a five-minute late arrival grace period. If you arrive more than five minutes late without prior notice, Adventure Park staff reserves the right to delay your group’s outing until the next available time – which may be the next day. Don’t be late!

If it’s raining or if there’s bad weather, are you still open?

Most likely yes. In the event of severe thunderstorms or ongoing precipitation, Evergreen staff will decide day-of as to whether or not to close the course. In the event the course is closed, a member of the Evergreen Sportsplex staff will attempt to call you to let you know and reschedule your time. If the course is open and there’s bad weather, you may call us to reschedule if you wish, based on availability.

Am I supposed to tip the guides?

Tips are always appreciated but never required.

What types of payment do you accept?

We take all forms of payment with the exception of American Express. A 20% (minimum $25) non-refundable deposit is required for all reservations.

What should I bring with me or wear out on the course?

Bring as little as possible. Typically, we recommend just bringing car keys and a cell phone. The more bulk you have to carry around, the tougher it is to get through the course. We do have free lockers on-site if you wish to store your belongings. Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and athletic wear (sweatpants, t-shirts, etc.) as that is the easiest to maneuver around in.

Do you offer Adventure Park birthday party, corporate outing, or team building packages?

Yes! Please visit our Birthday Party page or call Kate Hogan at (703) 771-8600 or e-mail kate@evergreensportsplex.com to learn more about group and party opportunities on the course.
